Believer’s Baptism

Believer’s baptism requires I make some choices.

It is difficult to make spiritual choices when we are infants and some churches encourage parents to do it on their behalf.  However individual spiritual choices usually happen as we get older. It can be when we are young, or teenagers or even later in life.

Lets ask a couple more questions:

What spiritual choices have I previously made?

What choices do I need to make before being baptised?

Recognise I need help? After all I cannot live a perfect life!

All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Rom 3: 23

Turn my back on what I know to be wrong?

Turn back to God ! Be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins will be forgiven (Peter to the crowd of unbelievers in Acts 2: 38)

Trust Jesus to put things right?

Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was nailed to the cross, so that we would stop sinning and start living right. (1 Pet 2:24)

Invite Jesus to be in charge of my life?

Some people accepted him and put their faith in him. So he gave them the right to be the children of God (John 1:12)
